A Silent Manifest by Manne Skafvenstedt

I am very honored to be sharing Manne Skafvenstedt latest project titled A Silent Manifest that’s been released through our friends over at Prisma Music. A SILENT MANIFEST is a musical diary from the fall of 2022. I had noticed myself losing contact with the depth of everyday experience and decided to enter the studio in honor of regaining what I had lost. I ritualized a process where no unnecessary disturbances were allowed. Presence was the guiding star. If the music didn’t come from presence or didn’t facilitate presence, I would delete it. I wanted the music to be the stillness inside and outside of me.

A SILENT MANIFEST is a naive yearning for stillness. It’s a dream, I believe. A sanctuary from the ruthless face of change or perhaps a ruthless sanctuary from the luring smile of divinity. My foolish wish for a sanctuary from sanctuaries. It’s nevertheless A SILENT MANIFEST.

Manne Skafvenstedt is a pianist, composer and producer from Stockholm, Sweden. Working in the fields of jazz, ambient, electronics and sound design.

The ambition with his ambient music is to include the listener in the exploration of possibilities – inspired by the slowly evolving but always interesting textures of ambient music.
