Today we’re seeing a in-house collaboration titled Murmuration being released by MVLI and Oh, My. For those of you that’s been a part of the movement you might remember MVLI and if not, I truly recommend to listen through his previous catalogue. I teamed up with Oh, My to speak a bit about how it all happened and his own inspiration for ‘Murmuration’.
My collaboration with MVLI started with me vividly remembering how I listened to “Summevening” (by MVLI) on repeat on the subway to work in the morning when it was released, and I thought it was incredibly good. It was truly a release that I remember so well and that played on repeat, so releasing a song together with MVLI 6.5 years later feels very nice.
Regarding the inspiration, I received a really nice composition with many instruments from MVLI, and my vision was to make everything sound soulful and live, but at the same time have the beat elements in place with heavy drums and elements of vocal chops and some looping elements as well.
