An amazing collaboration between two great producers currently located in Gothenburg which has teamed up in the Swedish Grammofon Studio and put their minds together for a beautiful song titled ‘Aeris‘ which they’ve written together on the spot. Let the rhodes & stunning bassline take your mind on a adventuro journey along musical notes. Vibes are jazzy, spring time and full of calm energy. I truly hope you will enjoy this one, blessings from the ninetofive.
1. How did you first connect with Anton Klavborn?
Boukas – Me and Anton are going in the same class at the University of Gothenburg. We started to talk with each other in the beginning, and after a while we started to work on music together. Anton is a great musician, and producer so the process of working together is fun, and it is easy to communicate.
2. Can you describe, briefly, how the two of you work together on a musical project?
Boukas – Well, it varies a lot. Sometimes I come with a demo, like with the song Aeris, and then we will develop it together. Sometimes we will sit down together and write from the start. I like how Anton understands my ideas and then translate it to something bigger, more interesting harmonically. Anton is a easy person to work with, and he is always down for trying new things. A part from that, Philip theodor blessed the song with his bass, as usual.
Anton Klavborn – Like he said, haha. Yeah but me and Boukas have a great way of working together, we make a good fit both musically and personally. Lot of things in common when it comes to musical references and so on. In our projects we complete each other very well , which comes in very handy in our process that Boukas just described.
3. Since this is the first release on the catalog with you Anton, How would you describe your working Style?
Anton Klavborn: It varies, depending on what kind of music and whom I work with. When working alone i’m all over the place. Trying different things, hopping between different songs etc. So sometimes I’m quite slow in my own music production haha. It’s a different story when i work together with other people. Working with Dennis i’m much more efficient.
Having him to chip ideas with, combined with the possibility to have a constant musical dialog throughout the process i would describe my working style as structured and responsive.
4. Releasing this collaboration track ‘Aeris’ – Do you think you will be working on more songs together?
Boukas – Yeah, definatly. We are currently working on the music of a series of short movies and also other music projects. Stay tuned!
Anton Klavborn – We sure do! There is definitely more good stuff to come. Keep your eyes and ears open!
5. What gear did you use working on this together? Since i know you’re both inside the Audiofabriken studio in Gothenburg it could be fun to share some technical details for all the readers & listeners.
Boukas – We used Fender Rhodes mark 1, through a jazz chorus amplifier, miced up with a SM7B. A part from that we used a guitar through the same amplifier. I made the demo in Maschine which included the drums that are on the final result, and I processed them through a DBX 160A compressor.
The rest is done in Logic. And then the mastering process is more analog. I used a EMI eq, TubeTech multiband compressor, manley EQ etc. Both inside the SGS studio in Gothenburg it could be fun to share some technical details for all the readers & listeners.
For those of you that are new to Anton Klavborn, he’s a musican/songwriter/producer, born and raised in the southwest countryside of Sweden but currently residing in Gothenburg.
Starting off as a drummer in his young years he quickly developed a love for other instruments aswell. Today he is a multi-instrumentalist that takes inspiration from the soul, pop/rock and psychedelic music from the 60s and 70s and has a weak spot for an analog sound in general.
While working on beats you find him mainly behind the Fender Rhodes, striving to create a captivating musical vibe. His journey will be such a blessing to follow and see what he can develop and turn his new creations into.
